In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is the most well-known assisted reproductive technology. Various IVF treatments have been developed to achieve the best results in the treatment of different types of infertility.

In the process of IVF, the female egg cell (oocyte) and male sperm cell (sperm) are fertilized outside the body under carefully prepared laboratory conditions. The fertilized egg cells (embryos) are then selected in a specific number and placed inside the uterus.

Who is eligible for IVF?

Individuals with both fallopian tubes blocked: In this case, where the sperm cell cannot reach the egg cell for fertilization, IVF treatment is applied.

Low sperm count, motility, or abnormal sperm morphology: Issues with sperm count, motility, or abnormal morphology can occur separately or together. If the sperm count and motility are normal but the percentage of normal-looking sperm is below the limit, IVF treatment is recommended.

Unexplained infertility cases: Despite all investigations, 20% of infertility cases remain unexplained. In such cases, especially in female patients aged 36 and above, IVF treatment is considered.

Severe cases of endometriosis: Endometriosis occurs when the tissue lining the uterus, called the endometrium, grows outside the uterus, on the ovaries, abdominal lining, or fallopian tubes. Advanced cases of endometriosis may require IVF treatment, particularly in patients over the age of 35 who are suffering from infertility due to endometriosis.

IVF Treatment Steps:

Ovarian Stimulation

Takes 10-12 days, involves daily medication, and requires 2-3 clinic visits for monitoring.

Egg Retrieval

Takes 15-20 minutes, performed under general anesthesia, and is painless.

Sperm Preparation

The highest quality sperm is selected from the sample provided by your partner.

Fertilization of Eggs

Monitoring the development of fertilized eggs for 2-5 days.

Embryo Transfer

The highest chance of pregnancy involves placing 1-2 embryos into the uterus under ultrasound guidance. It is painless and takes about 5 minutes.

Pregnancy Support

Involves the use of various medications to support the formation of pregnancy. It continues until the heartbeat is detected, lasting approximately 12 days.
